Vertical Brand Spin-Off
Launch a new service line without diluting your brand.
New domain, new visual identity, new GBP — but built on your existing credentials and operations. Isolated SEO architecture means the spin-off ranks on its own without competing against the parent site.

Why spin off instead of adding a service page?
Two reasons: (1) SEO — Google ranks topically focused domains higher than generalist sites. A dedicated brand for EV chargers ranks better than 'Joe's General Contracting + EV chargers as one of 30 services'. (2) Trust — customers searching for a specialist convert higher when they land on a specialist site.
-
Will this hurt my existing site's SEO?
No. The architectures are completely isolated — different domains, no internal linking, separate GBP, separate analytics. The parent brand keeps its existing rankings. The spin-off competes on its own merits.
-
When does a spin-off make sense?
When (1) you have a service that's a major part of revenue but buried in a general site, (2) the service has its own buyer persona that doesn't overlap with your other customers, or (3) you want to expand without diluting your existing brand. Kilowire is the canonical example — a C-10 electrical spin-off from a general contractor.
-
Do I need a separate business entity (LLC / DBA) for this?
Not necessarily. Many spin-offs operate as DBAs ("Doing Business As") of an existing licensed entity. We don't handle legal/licensing — that's between you and your CPA or attorney. We build the digital infrastructure.
-
Can I roll the spin-off back into the parent brand later?
Yes. If the spin-off underperforms or strategy changes, we can migrate the site's content to a subdomain or subfolder of the parent and 301-redirect. Roll-back is a $400 migration job.
